Few, if any, boat builders have as much experience designing and equipping boats for long range cruising as P.A.E. To begin with, all deck surfaces feature a molded in, diamond shaped non-skid finish that provides excellent traction and yet is easy to clean. The anchor well and bow platform include a double bronze roller system for two anchors and a heavy duty, 1 ¼" stainless steel bow pulpit. To protect the bow, a specially designed stainless steel breast plate covers the fiberglass. Standard equipment includes a custom made 60 lb. stainless steel plow anchor that is complete with 400 feet of 5/16" high-test chain. Recessed for draining water and mud overboard before it travels aft, the anchor well features a Muir electric windlass, a heavy duty cleat and a second deck pipe for an additional rode. Compare this anchor system with that of any other 35 to 40 ft. boat on the market, and you'll see how serious and knowledgeable P.A.E. is about cruising. For safety, the outside bulwarks on the foredeck are raised for positive footing in a seaway.

For added protection from the sun and rain, the upper deck area above the pilot house features an extended eyebrow over the forward windows and a large overhang covering the aft cockpit. A short bulwark adds to the safety of the crew walking above and also serves as a convenient hand grip when walking along the decks below. A mast and boom system is designed to launch a dinghy/outboard of up to 600 lbs. The mast includes steps that provide easy access to the upper deck, and it is hinged on deck for lowering when necessary. A specially designed bracket supports the mast forward when lowered, helping make this is the perfect boat for traveling canals and the ICW. An optional crows nest and ladder can add the perfect touch to cruising the islands where visibility up high is a great advantage when threading one's way through the coral reefs.

The cockpit is well protected from wind, rain and sun, making it a true extension of the vessel's living quarters. There's room for a couple of deck chairs and a small table, making this the ideal "patio" for enjoying the view. Two hull doors, one to starboard and one aft, make boarding safe and easy. Molded in hatches in the cockpit sole provide access to a large lazarette and the propane locker. The lazarette will easily swallow up one's extra cruising gear including fenders, extra lines, rodes, spare anchors, gas tanks, scuba gear and more. Dual transom lockers are accessed from the swim platform and are ideal for stowing lines, electrical cords and other gear. The integrated swim platform features a stainless steel swim ladder.

Everywhere you look, you will see one detail after another designed for making life underway safe and comfortable. Both sidedecks are useful walkways, with stout safety rails and easy to reach hand grips. 1 ¼" stainless steel railings surround the deck and feature 30" high horizontal handrails. The forward deck area is very flat with a low profile for superior visibility. The water tank deck fill and waste pump out fitting are mounted on flat, easy to reach surfaces. Exterior dome lights are featured in the cockpit overhang, providing excellent visibility when docked or anchored at night.
