Steering System

• Hynautic hydraulic steering system with slave cylinder and
  helm pump using seamless copper tubing reinforced with rubber hydraulic lines and Aeroquip fittings at the hydraulic ram. A
  by-pass valve to enable the use of the emergency tiller for steering is included. The steering sytem also has two ts with
  ball valves near the steering ram to accommodate future
  (optional) autopilot installation.
• Custom made stainless steel steering wheel with teak handles. 24" diameter.
• 1-1/2" diameter stainless steel emergency tiller. Attaches to top of rudderpost and stows in lazarette. Installs in deck plate
  located center of cockpit sole.

Rudder

• Rudder stock is 1.75" solid stainless steel with welded on
  5/16" stainless steel rudder backbone plate that has lightening holes and stiffening ribs.
• Rudder stock rests on Teflon bearing fitted to bronze carrier
  shoe.
• Bronze rudder shaft stuffing box and wound filament fiberglass rudder stock tube.
• Bronze rudder carrier shoe with zinc. Fiberglass rudder carrier
  top with collar type bearing.
• Rudder shell is gelcoat backed with vinylester resin and layed
  up with fiberglass. Polyurethane foam core.

Electric Bow Thruster

• Side-Power SP55S 4 horsepower bow thruster with single four blade composite propeller. (Unit is accessed through forward
  seat in master stateroom). 12 volt operation draws from house batteries. Bow section has molded in “teardrop” recess and tunnel is bonded to hull. Joy-stick control at helm station.
