3   Battery and DC system per PAE design #N40-00
  a (3) 255+ AH (8D) LIFELINE batteries for house applications (765 amps) and one additional 4D for engine starting. The engine stating battery is isolated from the house batteries which prevents the inadvertent discharge of the engine starting battery. Main engine has dual alternators - 160 amp large case for house and a small 40 amp for engine start battery charging. Parallel switches provide for emergency engine starting or to parallel alternators in case of an alternator failure
  b Each battery secured with ss tie downs
     
4   Battery cable: .00 for general battery leads with .0000 for starting and optional bow thruster
  a Positive lead is red
  b Negative is black
     
5   Conduits for future installations
  a PVC from mast step to pilothouse

  a All thru hulls bonded together with #6 green
  b All hardware mounted below waterline i.e. stuffing box, stern bearing housing, rudder shoe, rudder frame, rudder stuffing box grounded into 12 volt DC ground system
  c (2) 2-1/2" (6.35cm) x 5-3/4" (14.6cm) zinc plates tied into the 12 volt DC ground system
  d Galvanic isolators on ships service and air conditioning shore power connectors ground
     
7   AC generator (optional)
  a Foundation provided within the engine room to accommodate up to an 8KW generator
  b Electrical panel to accommodate AC ship's power
