After 6 days sitting in Glyfada Marina, Nordhavn is finally
under way heading for the Corinth Canal. The canal was cut
between 1883 and 1893. It was constructed to link the Ionian
Sea with the Aegean. It was cut through solid rock and is
over 6km long. The vertical sides rise 90m above the water.
The cost to transit the canal is based on its size, length
and beam, so it will cost us about 110 euros. Each euro is
worth about 89 cents. We'll report about the transit tomorrow.
