Around The World Voyage : Commentary : Leg 3

May 8, 2002

Just another perfect day on the water. The weather is beautiful, 82 deg. with tail winds of about 10 knots. We are all starting to think of our arrival and reunions with family and friends. It's been a month and a half since I've seen my wife and kids and I'll tell you, I'm ready to head to the barn.

The boat, as usual is perfect. We have been using water like it's coming out of the tap at home. As we mentioned from Greece, Bill from Spectra water makers was onboard giving the system a nice tune up before we left and it has worked flawlessly the entire time. If any of you are considering what water maker to buy I can hands down recommend Spectra.

Another piece of gear that has been great is the Raymarine autopilot. This thing has never hicupped and it steers the boat like she's on rails. We're running down swell and have been for some time and it just holds us right on course. We have the ST6001+.

Justin continues to try and catch fish and to date has landed two beauties but we do need at least one more. Pete really has a way with cooking that fresh fish.

Someone asked in our forum section why the reports have been getting shorter and shorter. There's just not that much exciting news to report. We don't just want to repeat the same old things, but if anyone wants more specific info on anything let us know through the question-answer Forums section and we'll get right back to you.
