Around The World Voyage : Commentary : Leg 4

May 14, 2002

Hi from Barbados!!! It was a very exciting morning as we waited for Nordhavn to arrive at Pt St Charles Marina. Pt. St. Charles is erroneously shown on the chart to be in Bridgetown rather than its actual location north of Holetown, so we had an additional 3 hours to wait for the boat to arrive. Arrive they did however in grand style at noon! There were hugs and hand shakes as we reunited with our old friends who we haven't seen for nearly two months.

The Customs and immigration offices are located here in the marina and the very friendly and efficient (and fun) officials made quick work of the entry of crew #3 and at the same time completed the departure papers for crew #4. The boat is gorgeous and squeaky clean. We couldn't be happier or more impressed with how good the boat looks. All we have to do is move their things off and move ours on. We have already taken on fuel (3149 liters) from the fuel dock here in the marina. Jeff M and Mike taken off to Costco, Pete and Justin are changing oil and Jeff L is teaching me about the computer- hence this e-mail.

More to come,

Dan
