specs dont detail the ballast, but I assume it must be there
to get the weight of 41,000 lbs. Please tell us what ballast
she carries.

The
NORDHAVN 40 carries 4,000 lbs of lead below the engine and
aft of the stuffing box. This weight represents about 10%
of the empty weight of the vessel and approximately 50% of
the fuel weight. A fully loaded N40 weighs in excess of 50,000
lbs.
