Rich
Barnum of Yardley, PA, asks:
How
can you be sure of the quality of the fuel you will be purchasing
in remote areas of the world?
Ray
Danet responds:
Actually,
you never know what you're going to get. We have been very
lucky in the fact that we have never had to get fuel from
50 gallon barrels. To date we have gotten our fuel from the
same bunkers that all the commercial boats use. Before we
put fuel in the Nordhavn, we take a sample in a clear container
to check for water and dirt. We do carry a "Baja" fuel filter
along if by chance we do run into contaminated fuel.
