We are delighted to have Albatross back on our Brokerage listings. For those of you who follow what is
available, you will probably recognize her. She sold at the back end of 2011 to
a buyer who took a beautifully maintained boat and made her even better!
The reason for the sale is simple. Albatross’s owner walked aboard a Nordhavn 55 at the Southampton Boat
Show last September and now the proud owner of one!
So we have her back on the books in minty condition and with several
upgrades to her electronics and much work done to her mechanical systems and
gear. Her owner had a professional
team looking after her and has spent significant money on her during her short
time under his ownership. Who
benefits from that? Well you will!
She is currently lying in Lowestoft, but will shortly return to NEL
headquarters in Hamble.
Accommodation
and Layout
The interior of this particular
47 has been very well designed throughout and certain customisation has
produced a very highly specified and well thought out boat.
The saloon layout has been carefully
customised; a day head with shower has been added to the saloon which replaces
the washer/dryer combo which is moved into the pilothouse. This day head means
that crew or friends staying on board do not have to disturb anyone in the
staterooms and is very handy in a sea way whilst passage making. On the port side of the salon we have
build a large couch which again offers fabulous comfort when resting in harbour
or at anchor or a lovely berth whilst underway. ‘Wall-to-wall’
carpets throughout boat. Curtains in Saloon.
In the pilothouse we have the
single bunk off watch berth layout which gives more seating room and an L
shaped table. We customized this so that the seating has an extension to make
up a second pilothouse berth.
The galley has all the standard goodies but also includes a Miele
dishwasher, extra storage and racks. Granite countertop cut to give maximum
saloon space and beautiful terracotta tiles on the
galley floor that really compliment and bring out the colour of the satin
varnished teak.
The master stateroom has a double bed with storage underneath and a door
to the engine room which has a additional teak back to
it enhancing the cosy feel. The en-suite head consisting of granite counter top
and upgraded fresh flush Tecma head. “Albatross” is a two cabin layout but we
have adapted the guest cabin to be a ‘family’ stateroom. The double berth to
port remains and we have added two bunk berths on the starboard side. With the
additional pipe cot this means that 5 can be accommodated in comfort. The bunks
also have lee –cloths for added safety. The guest head has the upgraded
Tecma head.
