Ata Marie has a nice swim platform aft that doubles as a dinghy dock. You can access the aft covered cockpit from the transom through a door.  The cockpit is capped with varnished teak and includes a BBQ/refrigerator/sink console atop a gorgeous teak deck.   From the cockpit you enter the saloon with U-shaped built-in settee to starboard including a fixed table. On the port side is a straight settee with storage underneath. Behind the port settee is a 40” Samsung LED T.V. mounted on an Aritex lift. The seating in the salon area enjoys wonderful views on both sides, plus forward and aft.  Sharing the forward area of this same level you transition into the pilothouse with a single helm chair and a large chart table to starboard.  The dash and overhead panels are smartly equipped with navigation and instrument controls.  Port and starboard pilothouse doors provide access to the foredeck and spacious forward sailing cockpit. Going outside you can walk along either side of the mast up to the bow. There is a forward hatch that provides access to the chain locker and sail locker.  Aft of the mast is a wonderful sailing cockpit with seating surrounding the steering binnacle. Back inside and continuing forward from the pilothouse to port, you descend a set of three steps which leads you to a long passageway forward to the guest cabin and also connects to the galley to starboard.  You can access the engine room from the port below decks hallway.   Aft and below the salon is the master stateroom.  Both staterooms include separate heads and showers. The lazarette (below the aft cockpit) is accessed through a deck hatch or aft through the master stateroom shower. She has over 1200 square feet of sail area.

Ata Marie is hull #2 of the Nordhavn Motorsailer series. The original buyer ordered her with the standard teak interior and added relatively few factory options to keep her simple and elegant.  She was commissioned in 2009. The original buyer cancelled this order after arrival due to cash constraints, an unfortunate victim of the global financial meltdown.  PAE immediately put her into our stock inventory and offered her for sale while also using her for some boat shows and sea trialing.  Then another unfortunate situation occurred – when Motorsailer 5605 arrived in San Diego from Taiwan (maybe you have heard of this) she was dropped during offload and the resulting damage resulted in a total insurance write off.  The owners of 5605 were given the use of 5602 while we built them a new boat (saying quite a lot about PAE’s integrity and honor towards our buyers!  5605 was custom ordered with several difference to 5602 (most notably she was the first Motorsailer built without the forward sailing cockpit and these buyers wanted to duplicate their order. So 5602 (which includes the standard forward sailing cockpit) is essentially a brand new boat that was loaned out for an extended shake down. She has enjoyed nearly a full year of cruising now…which means she has been put through her paces, had the usual new boat bugs worked out and test driven so she should be raring to go.

Ata Marie has been cruising Mexico for the 2009-2010 season and has just sailed back up to Dana Point, CA in early May so that the buyers of 5605 (now 5608) can transfer over their personal belongings and take delivery of their new Nordhavn 56 Motorsailer.
