Introduction:

Nordhavn 57 #21 is a two stateroom, dry exhaust with keel cooled main engine example of the very popular N57. She has forward angled pilot house windshield, Cruisair air conditioning/reverse cycle heating system (with heat strips) and Teak and Spruce cabin soles throughout. Placed on the market by her original owners she is well equipped for bluewater or coastal cruising to augment her already distinquished passagemaking career.

Tour of the boat – From Main Saloon to Guest Staterooms Forward:

The main saloon is accessed from the stern of the boat through a large sliding door.  The saloon has large windows equipped with external sun screens. To port is a large L shaped settee which can seat six comfortably.  The table was custom made for the boat and is in “like new” condition.  Just forward of the settee is a storage cabinet and two fixed swiveling stools in front of the bar overlooking the galley.  The starboard side of the saloon features a home entertainment system cabinet below the bracket mounted flat screen TV. Forward on the starboard side are two custom swiveling easy chairs. On the starboard side fwd of the two easy chairs are the ASKO washer and dryer enclosed in teak cabinets matching the saloon interior.

Galley:

The galley is located at the forward end of the saloon to port.  The galley counter faces aft and is covered with Corian countertops which surround the stainless steel sink. Galley appliances include:  Sub-Zero 611-F refrigerator and freezer including icemaker, Thermador LPD Stove and Oven (S.S.), GE 18” dishwasher, GE microwave oven, Garbage disposal (in-sinkerator), Broan Trash Compactor. Ventillation provided by a sliding door leading to port side walkway. Additional freezer (Sub-Zero 249) is installed in the lazarette.

Pilothouse:

The helm area is accessed from the saloon from the starboard side.  There is a curved settee to port w/ a teak dinette table that can seat four comfortably.  Chart drawers and storage lockers are above & below the settee.  There are two narrow Stidd helm chairs (model #500-200-2X2, reupholstered in Europe in 2005), which overlook the MMC controls & electronics in the center of the pilothouse.  To starboard is the main electrical panel, which controls both the DC & AC systems. The pilothouse has one overhead hatch on centerline with a custom interior sliding sun shade. To starboard, opposite the settee is the stairway aloft to the fly bridge.

Flybridge:

The flybridge gives a commanding view of the vessel for boat captain and crew.  The seating arrangement includes one Pompanette helm chair with a L shaped settee behind it.  FRP table serves the settee. Stainless steel fixed “T” top Bimini vinyl covered provides shade and allows optimal of air flow.

Engine Room:

The engine room is accessed from the starboard side of the salon forward of the washer and dryer closets downstairs. Equipment in the engine room is as follows:

  • Northern Lights – 16 KW Generator, FWD (2,587 hours)

State Rooms and Fwd Heads:

Forward and below the pilothouse are two staterooms. The owner’s stateroom  is located amidships to provide the owner w/ the most comfortable sleeping area while underway and at the dock.  The berth is an island queen with a customer ordered closed cell mattress. The cabin is surrounded with large lockers and drawers. There is a large bookshelf on the bulkhead above the berth. On the port side of the owners cabin is a large ensuite head, which features a full size shower and corian countertops.  All the toilets aboard have been upgraded to Royal Flush Headhunter jet flush which can be operated on either fresh or salt water. Starboard side of the stateroom features a built-in writing desk/dressing table with pivoting stool.

The VIP Guest suite in the bow features a centerline queen with the large lockers and drawers as were noted in the owners cabin. The Guest stateroom has private access to the guest head, which is on the starboard side, features the Headhunter jet flush head along with a separate stall shower stall and doubles as the day head for the boat.

Exterior – On Deck:

There are numerous custom options the owners had built into the boat for comfort and convenience. MMC Engine Controls with five stations – FB, WH, aft deck/cockpit and port and starboard wing stations on the Portuguese Bridge. Also included on the stern of the boat is a deck refrigerator/freezer and a stainless steel Galley Mate 220V electric barbeque.

On the upper deck is a 12 foot Trade Wind Inflatable with Honda outboard which is easily launched using the 1300 lb. Stainless steel AIRTEX HSC 610 davit with power rotation, boom up and down and hoist up and down.
