“Patty M” is the first Nordhavn 62’ to circumnavigate the world!

If you are giving serious thought to the perfect motor yacht for long range cruising you already know about the Nordhavn 62.  Consider the reality that this stout solid fiberglass yacht has already accomplished the incredible, and done so in a routine manner.  The 62’s design and pedigree make it possible for you to take over command and continue on a journey to wherever your heart desires.  And why not take such an adventure on a yacht that exudes all of the confidence that will provide you with the confidence that only a boat with this type of experience – all seas, all conditions – can provide?

The sellers are the second owners, and grabbed the baton in England.  This crew continued the voyage across the Atlantic and earlier this year parted through Panama before turning north bound in the Pacific.  Having completed this adventure they are already making plans to take off again, this time on a larger Nordhavn.

Hull number 18 is right in the middle of our production run, with hull 36 being the most recent Nordhavn 62 delivered.

The simple description: Asymmetrical “wide body” saloon with starboard side deck, four state room hallway layout, wet stack exhaust, stern bustle and upper aft deck seating.

“Patty M” has been looked after by a professional captain and crew, allowing the owners to enjoy her to the fullest while on board, but also making sure that in their absence this grand yacht is always in caring hands.  A long range work horse like a Nordhavn 62 is happiest when she is on the move and there is always a project or two to take on - from tiny upgrades to routine maintenance.  It is this constant attention and continual use that makes “Patty M” such an incredible opportunity – all of those thousands: hours under her keel, miles left in her wake and days of adventure combine to make her quite possibly the best prepared and most properly seasoned 62 we have ever listed for sale.

She features an incredible selection of the latest modern voyager equipment including: commercial grade Furuno navigation, versatile  electrical  system making this vessel adaptable to any shore power input in the world, flat screen televisions, FLIR night vision, twin generators, air conditioning (with back up air con pump and separate sea chest intake), hydraulic active fin stabilizers, hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, upgraded hydraulic power steering, a Lugger wing engine and features a Lugger 6125 main with wet stack.

The hydraulic package runs off the wing engine, keeping that important feature integral to the daily operation and the TRAC active fins are the gold standard aboard Nordhavns – keeping an even keel in the roughest waters is crucial to comfort on a long passage and these are the best.

Electrically she is outfitted to provide and harness power anywhere in the world.  Shore adapters for multiple countries come included and she has two inverters, two generators and can operate efficiently in either 50 cycle or 60 cycle environments.  The Lifeline AGM batteries are new as of 2006.

Climate control onboard is done by a Cruisair chilled water air conditioning system…when this was originally installed it was a significant upgrade…really a break through.  Now it is an improvement that most new Nordhavns request.

Inside “Patty M” you will find the luxury and craftsmanship that the Ta Shing yard in Taiwan is world famous for.  The saloon is spacious, with beautiful teak on the inside and a great view of the outside world.  This 62 has an impressive pilothouse with Stidd helm chair, a fabulous nav/com electronics suite and a comfortable bench behind the helm for guests to gather underway.  The bridge also includes a desk with chair. The accommodations forward of the galley are comprised of the master stateroom aft on centerline with ensuite head and shower and then three additional staterooms forward.  There is a day head at the beginning of the hallway.  The starboard and forward cabins each have their own private head and shower.

Trying to describe the grandeur of a yacht like “Patty M” with words and pictures just doesn’t come close to getting on board.  We welcome your visit by appointment and look forward to showing you what a world conquering Nordhavn 62 looks like after circling the globe.

MAIN SALON

Entering the salon through a wide watertight door you are immediately struck by beauty, elegance and openness, this is an area that both flows and provides numerous comfortable seating arrangements.

There are two Ekornes chairs to port.   To starboard in the saloon is a beautiful dinette with a removable center section.   The teak and spruce flooring is nicely carpeted which balances the beautiful teak interior panels and the neutral off white tone of the overhead blends well with the Ekornes chairs.

The interior of “Patty M” is all satin varnished teak which has been carefully selected and beautifully matched.  The floors except where specified are traditional varnished teak and spruce.

GALLEY

This galley features a nearly full height SubZero refrigerator outboard to port.  Appliances include a microwave and trash compactor plus oven and stove cook top. The Corian counter offers an expansive serving area.

MASTER STATEROOM

Forward of the galley is a hallway which starts outboard to starboard with the electrical panel and finds the master immediately to port which focuses on a large island berth running fore/aft on centerline.  .  There is a full length dressing mirror. There is an incredible amount of storage for clothes with drawers and hanging lockers.

MASTER HEAD

This is a convenient and private head with shower and sink.  .

HALLWAY

Gorgeous teak and spruce floors reflect up to the varnished teak panels of the hall which runs the full length of the living quarters.  At the beginning of the hallway to starboard is the ships main electrical panel with all of the necessary breakers and panels easily readable and logically labeled.  This is convenient being right across from the master stateroom and also close to the engine room which is accessed from the same area.

GUEST DAY HEAD Starboard

This head is located just forward of the main electrical panel in the hallway and serves as the day head for the boat as crew on watch or guest in the saloon will find this the most convenient location to freshen up.

GUEST STATEROOM Starboard

Forward of the day head is a comfortable guest stateroom to starboard.  The starboard stateroom has a double berth running along the hull and an innovative athwartships pipe berth on the forward bulkhead.

GUEST STATEROOM Port

This cabin is comprised of a set of bunk beds with an ensuite head.

GUEST HEAD – Port

Adjoined ensuite head with shower

GUEST STATEROOM Forward

At the forward end of the hallway you go up a step to the forward guest stateroom. This stateroom has a watertight door separating it from the hallway and a double berth to port and an ensuite head with shower forward. Below the teak and spruce sole you have access to house batteries, and hydraulics for the bow thruster, deck wash and windlass in addition to the inverters and crane drive.

GUEST HEAD forward

The forward head and shower is extremely convenient for the guests occupying this space.

PILOT HOUSE

Heading aloft you ascend to the pilothouse where an incredible 360 degree view awaits.  The floor features teak and spruce and there are two Stidd helm chairs.  Aft of the helm is a nice bench seat area with lush varnished table and a watch berth aft atop a deep freezer.  Starboard aft is an office area with desk surface and chair.  Dutch doors allow great air flow with the top halves open underway.

PILOT HOUSE DESK

One of the great places to relax on this 62 is up in the pilothouse.  When you are off watch, but want to stay near the action you will appreciate the built in desk with chair which can be set up as an underway office complete with file drawers

UPPER AFT DECK

Leaving the wheelhouse and heading aft you will find the “back patio” which has a fiberglass table and marvelous seating.  The area is covered with a stainless Bimini top and is a wonderful place to enjoy the view both underway and at anchor.  Also the at anchor flopper stopper poles and stainless flopper plates to settle the boat when moored are positioned.

PORTUGUESE BRIDGE DECK

Forward of the wheelhouse is a magnificent protected turret from which you can safely marvel at the sweeping ocean views. This deck is meant for easy access foot traffic. There is a huge storage locker just forward of the pilothouse windows.

FOREDECK

You can reach the foredeck from the starboard side deck or from the center access provided in the Portuguese bridge.  Prominently positioned on centerline is polished stainless steel crane. A horizontal  hydraulic windlass allows you to operate both anchors.  There are also two large dock boxes for storage.  .  There is a shore power copse to starboard.

COCKPIT

Entering the cockpit you have a fiberglass seating area to port. Centered and forward is a Lewmar electric warping winch for stern anchoring assistance.  The cockpit area also boasts a built in sink, barbeque, and storage cabinets. There is an aft docking control station, located outboard to starboard atop the console.  The lazarette beneath houses air conditioning compressors, the emergency tiller and has plenty of room to stow gear.

STERN BUSTLE

The stern bustle built in aft of the cockpit provides a large swim platform and dinghy landing deck.  This voluminous bustle chamber adds great storage for your diving and fishing gear. The bustle also houses the hydraulic stern thruster and is sealed with a commercial grade Freeman hatch.

ENGINE ROOM

The engine room is a long, broad area with a nice seating area to starboard where you can view the machinery and keep in touch with the pulse of your ship.  The Lugger main engine sits beautifully on center with the shrouded exhaust traveling aft. On the starboard side aft is the Lugger wing engine and hydraulic alternator.  There is a “day” supply tank to feed the engines and all of the Racor fuel filters and the fuel manifolds are forward to starboard for easy access and manipulation.  A built in sea chest delivers sea water to the various engines and pumps that require cooling. This is an engine room that is easy to manage and you are low and centered while underway.

Additional comments:

“Patty M” is an outstanding vessel representing an excellent value for anyone interested in purchasing one of the best available luxury long-range passage makers built. She has been well maintained including an aggressive haul out and multiple upgrades in September, 2007. Her spare parts are too numerous to list. When you consider that the comparable price to duplicate her new exceeds $2.6 million, and add to that a waiting time of well over two years you’ll have to agree that this is an opportunity that will certainly appeal to a Nordhavn candidate ready to make a move now.   All you need is already here…just bring clothes and food – then set sail, “Patty M” knows the way and is prepared right now for her second voyage all over the world…
