"Fringe Benefit" is an extremely well maintained boat whose owner continually upgrades every season. While still being under shrink wrap the boat shows well with clean bilges and no offensive odors.
The owner has maintenance logs showing what upgrades were done and when including the yearly tasks.
She is for sale due to the owner purchasing a larger Nordhavn.
Ideally the owner would like to see this boat sold prior to heading north from Florida with his new craft when the weather breaks.
Offers are encouraged.
Tour of the Boat - From the Main Saloon to the Forward Stateroom at the Bow
Entry into the interior of the boat is from the raised deck area just above the swim platform area.
The interior of the “Fringe Benefit” is beautifully done in teak with a satin finish.
All living spaces are cooled by three Marine Air reverse cycle air conditioning units. Floors are carpeted throughout the boat. This arrangement allows for a nice entertaining area in the lower helm area that includes a couch to the stbd side with an easy chair and otterman to port. The lower helm area is also located in this area along with a small wet bar and icemaker aft on the port side. There is also a Sharp flat screen TV mounted on the stbd side of the salon just above the galley.
Moving forward in the boat you will find a galley to starboard and a settee sitting area to port. Please note that the table in the settee drops down to make this a double berth when additional sleeping quarters are needed (includes track for privacy curtain).
The galley is on the stbd side just forward of the salon. It features a three-burner stove with oven. The galley is well laid out with ample storage. The galley contains the following:
- Three-burner Princess stove with oven
- Full size refrigerator/freezer
- Toaster oven
- Abundant over and under counter storage
- Stainless steel double sink with faucet
Forward Cabin and Head
Forward of the galley area is a short companionway to the forward cabin. There you will find a nice head to starboard with a Vacuflush system and a full size hanging locker to port. The forward cabin features a large V-berth forward with and overhead hatch for ventilation.
Engine Compartment - Mechanical and Electrical Spaces
Access to the engine compartment is through an access hatch at the base of the stairway in the galley area. Here are some notes on the equipment found here:
- Cummins 903 diesel engine (port side engine hours 2,437)
- Cummins 903 diesel engine (stbd side engine hours 933 since rebuild)
- Port engine transmission gear replaced in 2015
- Stbd engine transmission gear replaced in 1997
- Onan 7.5 generator (2,432 hours)
- Magna 2850 inverter (new 2016)
- Change X oil changing system
- Racor fuel filters
- Full electrical panel (110v and 12v systems - in companionway going aft)
The aft stateroom is located down and aft of the saloon area. It features two twin berths along with a full head on the port side. The head features a Vacuflush head and a separate shower area.
Please note that both the aft head and the forward head are plumbed with shut off valves for the vacuum plumbing (if one head developes a problem it can be isolated and not affect the other head).
The aft cabin features a huge amount of storage space both under the berths and in the lockers on the walls of the cabin.
Exterior Tour of the Boat Starting at the Stern
The swim platform leads to a raised aft deck which leads to a ladder to the flybridge. Other items on the aft deck include two deck boxes for storage and davits on the swim platform. There is also a brand new bimini that covers the aft deck or stands stored in its own boot.
One of the best places to run the boat and entertain while underway is the flybridge. There are bench seats by the wheel. The flybridge is sheltered from the sun by a polished aluminum frame hardtop with full enclosure. There is also additional area for deck chairs behind the bench seat.
Electronics on the flybridge include:
- Garmin autopilot
- Furuno Nav Net 2 radar/chartplotter
- Ideal windlass remote
- Icom 504 VHF
- Horizon depthfinder
- Remote spotlight control
- Ratheon 1200 radar (at lower station)
- President VHF (at lower station as a backup)
- Trim tab control
- 12 volt outlet
- Pioneer stereo
- 24 volt bow thruster
The foredeck is kept clear for anchoring duties using the Ideal windlass along with 55 lb. anchor along with 200' of chain along with 150' of rode. The windlass is controlled by a switch at the windlass as well as remote switch on the flybridge.
