INTRODUCTION:

Island Magic is hull number one of the extremely popular Nordhavn 43 series. The Nordhavn 43 was developed after the 2000-2001 Nordhavn 40 Circumnavigation and was designed to replace the legendary Nordhavn 46. PAE/Nordhavn created the Nordhavn 43 as a two stateroom, two head trawler for long distance cruising.

The Nordhavn 43 has been turning heads and turning up in far away ports of call for over six years and already boasts a circumnavigation and multiple long range passages by sister ships. There is not finer full displacement passage making yacht in this size range.

Island Magic’s profile is striking with her flybridge and paravane rig (like many important cruising aspects she has built in redundancies, in this case two forms of stabilization). She is the “cover girl” for all of the original Nordhavn 43 advertisements and she has also been featured in Circumnavigator magazine.

 

ACCOMMODATIONS & LAYOUT:

The Nordhavn 43 is a full displacement trawler type vessel with proven long-range capabilities. The layout for Island Magic includes: Flybridge, Forepeak chain locker, Forward head, Guest stateroom with 3 berths and ensuite head, amidships Owner’s stateroom with ensuite head, spacious full width salon and enclosed wheelhouse. For extra accommodations she was built with pull out extension berths in salon and wheelhouse.

One of the most unique improvements to Island Magic when she was ordered is that the guest stateroom layout was built without the usual desk to starboard and instead features a wonderful sleeping berth to starboard to accommodate additional crew.
