Rarely does a boat of this vintage come along that has been as lovingly maintained as MORGAN. It is to the current owner’s credit that she has the shine and presentation of a much newer Nordhavn 40. The next owner will benefit from the low hours on the machinery, not from long stints of sitting, but from low but regular use. She is truly a “turn key” offering with all the amenities from dishes to an impressive spare parts inventory. MORGAN’S owners have kept her on a regular maintenance schedule and not a day goes by without hands on inspection. Serious buyers should take notice!

Vessel Description

MORGAN is a US built Nordhavn 40 and is #6 in the series. She offers a two stateroom one head layout that is the best use of the available space and has stood the test of time. Her saloon and galley are on the same level and with the “wide body” design offer a surprising amount of space. The full-width saloon provides more than sufficient living space. On the starboard side, a settee measuring over eight feet long provides lounging comfort and dining space with an adjustable dinette table of almost ten square feet. To port there is a custom built in cabinet housing the entertainment center and book storage. The galley is laid out with ample locker, drawer, and counter space.

Down several steps and to Port is the guest stateroom featuring ample over and under berths, plenty of storage, and access to the engine room going aft.

Benefiting from the Maintenance Strakes, this engine room provides five feet of headroom. The entire engine room is heavily insulated with two inches of sound-deadening material. In addition to the standard systems, there's ample room within the engine compartment for the generator, and wing engine, etc. Service and inspection of machinery is simple within this spacious compartment.

To starboard is the head and shower.

The forward master cabin is large and airy with centerline double berth surrounded by locker storage. It also includes ample counter and floor space and light. Natural ventilation comes from the dorade vent and hatch above, as well as the two hull-mounted opening ports. A small seating area is provided for dressing and more than six feet of book shelving is also included.

Within the well-protected wheelhouse, abundant space is provided for MORGAN's complete selection of electronics. The rake of the forward wheelhouse windows also reduces interior heat and eliminates glare from primary instrumentation. Additionally, this design provides added space above the line of sight for smaller yet important instrumentation. The most comfortable seating for watch standing is aft at the settee, which includes an adjustable teak table, which allows easy visibility of instrumentation and an unobstructed exterior view. A full-length watch berth, located aft of the settee, makes watch standing easy with another person sleeping within arm's reach. The wheelhouse location allows the helmsman to have active participation in line handling. Port and starboard spring line hawse pipes and cleats are just an arm stretch away.
