“Nalani” is one of the newest and best equipped Nordhavn 52’s currently available on the brokerage market. When built, no expenses were spared. She is highly upgraded with a custom Teak wood interior, custom granite work, extended boat deck, extended swim step and the highly desired “Plan B” layout.
“Nalani” offers a very unique opportunity to own one of the most popular Nordhavn models in PAE’s current production line. She is in like-new condition and shows a real pride of ownership.
“Plan B” Layout Entering from the aft cockpit through the Diamond Sea Glaze dutch door, there is a crescent shaped settee to starboard and a straight settee to port. The upholstery is Ultraleather. The teak and spruce salon sole is covered with an anti-skid backed, bound edge carpet with a 2" reveal to expose the wood around its perimeter.
The galley is at the port forward end of the salon and communication between the galley and salon is unimpeded. Just outboard, there are steps up to the pilothouse. The pilothouse is a comfortable place for a group to gather underway. Forward raked windscreens aid in shedding water and eliminate light reflecting from the electronics during night operation. Inside the windscreen are large upper and lower instrument consoles.
There is a very comfortable and adjustable Stidd helm chair upholstered in Ultraleather at the steering station. The chair is located comfortably in reach of the instrument console and angled stainless steel wheel. The instruments mounted into the upper and lower consoles display very legibly. To starboard is the electrical distribution panel with digital meters that allow the systems to be monitored easily.
Aft of the helm chair are the dinette settee and teak table. The cushions are upholstered in matching Ultraleather. A watch berth is just aft and above the dinette seat back.
Forward and down a couple steps of the galley is the companion way leading to the engine room, master stateroom, laundry, day head and guest stateroom. This walk thru layout allows the pilothouse to be full width and less up and down getting to the staterooms and heads.
The master is located to port, and there is a queen size bed with drawer storage under, a large hanging locker and drawer storage outboard to port. Over the forward part of the berth is even more storage. There are LED reading lamps above each side of the bed. The aft end of the stateroom is the owner’s ensuite with ample room.
The guest stateroom is located forward and accessed via the companionway. The guest stateroom head is accessed from the companionway to the starboard side before entering the guest cabin proper. This layout allows for this head to be used as a ‘day’ head. The centerline forward queen sized bed has multiple drawers beneath. The cabin offers three overhead opening hatches with privacy and Oceanair screens, these overhead hatches flood this cabin with light and fresh air. There are hanging lockers, bedside lockers and reading and overhead lights. A floor hatch provides access to a generous storage area and to the grey and black water tanks, for ease of maintenance.
The single John Deere 6068AFM85 main engine is a time and distance tested Nordhavn configuration. With dry stack exhaust and the Nordhavn gravity feed fuel system, the propulsion system is the most reliable of any in service. It has been tested over many years and millions of cumulative miles.
The raw water pump on the main engine has been eliminated in the keel-cooled configuration. There is no raw (outside) cooling water intake in the closed circuit to ingest weed, plastic, or other marine growth.
Exhaust gas from the engine is discharged from the dry stack well above the deck and superstructure to eliminate the “station wagon effect” of pulling the exhaust along with the boat underway. Exhaust noise is diminished because of the absence of the “water-hammer effect” of the cooling water discharged with the gas at the waterline.
