The Nordhavn Trawlers from P. A. E. are highly regarded for their high quality construction, and long-range offshore capabilities. This vessel is fully imported in Australia with no taxes to pay.  “MY Panacea” not only represents the finest example of these attributes, she also exceeds factory specifications in key areas. She is equipped to serve as an extremely capable passagemaker for any voyage one cares to undertake. While doing so, she will surround the owners and guests in Nordhavn’s traditional handcrafted joinery, thoughtful attention to detail and spacious comfortable accommodations. She’s a distinct breed and ready to go the distance. Her pilothouse command bridge offers a full suite of navigation and communications equipment as described below, along with a commanding view of the waters while being well-protected by the Nordhavn-signature Portuguese bridge. Yet the skipper is not isolated, thanks to a generous and comfortable L-shaped settee and dinette table for off-watch guests.

The 50 foot Nordhavn has a bulbous bow, and the two-stateroom layout, featuring a master stateroom with walk around island berth and large guest double cabin forward, both with ensuite. The large leather lounge in the saloon also converts into a double bed for the extra guests. The Nordhavn 50 is a most popular model in the Nordhavn line with a very attractive look and profile.

The asymmetrical layout allows extra interior saloon space and galley with the port cabin side extending to the port rail. Enter the saloon through the cockpit/aft saloon door. To starboard just inside the door is the entertainment unit and recliner black leather Director’s chair (new 2012) with foot rest, matching the settee to port that pulls out to a double bed (new 2012). At the forward end of the saloon to port is the galley, with generous counter space, and double bowl sink conveniently located at the outboard corner of the galley, with ample drawer and locker storage. The dishwasher and garbage compactor make the galley any cook's dream. To starboard of the galley companionway steps lead up to the pilothouse. Two large opening windows and four fixed windows in the saloon provide good natural lighting, visibility and ventilation to this important section of the vessel. Blinds fitted in main saloon.

As it is the hub of the boat, the helm chair is positioned to watch over all instruments and have wonderful visibility at the same time. The seating for off-watch guests fits four persons comfortably around a polished timber table and most meals will be taken here. The extra monitor screen can be seen from all seating. Storage under the seating is valuable for extra stores. There is plenty of room for the instrument placement on the console, and state-of-the-art electronics.

Three exterior docking stations along with the main helm station make docking in all conditions and positions a very easy matter.

On the starboard side of the pilothouse, inside companionway steps have direct access to the master stateroom, ensuite, guest stateroom and guest’s ensuite. Both rooms have ample hanging and storage space. The engine room access door is in the aft bulkhead of the master stateroom. The master stateroom has an athwart-ship queen size bed with hanging lockers fore and aft, drawer storage under and beside the bed and a large dressing mirror on the forward bulkhead. Access to the master ensuite is to starboard, inside the master stateroom. Teak & cherry floors and carpet feature throughout the boat.

The transom has a very useful swim step and transom door to the aft cockpit. From the cockpit there is access to the foredeck via the starboard side deck. There is a boarding door in the bulwark of the starboard side deck at midships. At the forward end of the side deck are steps up to the pilothouse deck and Portuguese bridge, and foredeck.

The foredeck is well-designed for working. Just forward of the Portuguese bridge are deck gear storage lockers. All the way forward is the ground tackle handling area, where the windlass, anchor locker deck hatch, and anchor roller channels are situated in an area of the deck molded to contain mud and debris. All decks drain to the waterline to prevent streaking of the hull with residue. A full cover for the foredeck prevents the sun from fading gel-coat and offers shade to the guest stateroom so the hatch can be left open for the breeze.

Following the Portuguese bridge to port allows access to the port pilothouse door and steps up to the upper boat deck. The boat deck may also be accessed from the cockpit ladder aft. On the boat deck are the tender, davit, and liferaft cradle. There is a lot of room on the boat deck for additional deck box storage and lounging.

The master cabin is accessed from the pilothouse and well situated low and in the middle of the boat. The large double bed faces port to starboard, with a custom made pocket sprung marine mattress for good night’s sleep.

Roomy hanging cupboards are all cedar lined, and there are numerous drawers and other storage areas. Large mirror with LED lighting throughout, and screens are on all port holes.
