Certainly one of the nicest examples of the proven Nordhavn 86 - Rest Assured is a 2013 model and has an extended length of just under 92 feet. Designed and built for her present owner to the high standards of ABS with +A1 Yachting Service rating for the hull and AMS rating for machinery and installation. The vessel maintains ABS certification with her annual inspections. No expense was spared on any aspects of Rest Assured, which features a stunning formal mahogany interior with beautiful moldings and raised panels, combined with stone floors, granite counter-tops, the finest hardware, lighting and fixtures, and beautiful décor. Rest Assured’s extensive outfitting and painstaking maintenance - overseen by her very professional crew along with a knowledgeable and meticulous owner - combine to make this one of the most beautiful expedition yachts available.
Rest Assured with her 24-foot beam is more than impressive at first sight, however her full load displacement of over 400,000 pounds allows her to compare with many vessels well over 100 feet.
Building on the experience of hundreds of thousands of ocean crossing miles and applying the “form follows function” rule, this ultimate offshore passagemaker has been designed in an aft wheelhouse configuration. For comfort and visibility at sea, this arrangement is simply the best, and with the resulting long foredeck, tenders up to 20 feet can be accommodated.
Taking advantage of the enormous capacity of this hull, Rest Assured offers accommodations that are nothing short of remarkable. The saloon and galley measures 36 feet in length, the VIP cabin and head are full-width consuming the whole forward/upper section of the vessel. The magnificent owner's suite is located on the upper deck aft of the wheelhouse and provides a combination of unprecedented privacy, views and virtually a noise-free environment. Two luxurious guest staterooms are provided on the lower deck as well as a dedicated laundry room with abundant storage for linens, towels and supplies.
Crew cabins and head are aft with a dedicated exterior entrance and complete with a mini-galley.
Construction of the N86 is conventional fiberglass, built to extremely heavy scantlings using beautifully constructed female molds for the entire hull and deck. Starting with a seamless, flawless structure, a highly detailed gelcoated finish possible only with this molding process, Rest Assured then received a complete Alexseal® paint job. A combination of the highly detailed molding and the superior luster and maintainability of the Alexseal® paint will result in a yacht finish that is to the highest possible standard. With all the discussion of the N86's enormity, she presents the ideal juxtaposition: her beamy interior offers the sense of being on a much larger boat yet she handles like a much smaller one.
Twin MTU Series 60 engines rated at 740 hp each spinning 48-inch propellers through 4.59 to 1 reduction gears allow a transatlantic cruising speed of 10 knots. With over 7,000 gallons of fuel aboard and throttled back to the 9 knot range, this new design can run roughly 4,000 miles before refueling. This twin configuration includes integral skegs and two large attached rudders for maximum directional control and propellers that are protected within their own apertures. The advancedhigh-pressure, common rail, electronically injected engines are fitted with wet exhaust, commercial rated transmissions with large reduction gears and offer efficiency and reliability never before possible.
An extensive list of standard machinery details includes central hydraulics with 20-square-foot stabilizers, 50 hp bow and stern thrusters, hydraulic bilge pumping and anchor wash downs, dual Onan® generators, a universal AC electrical system for world wide use, 3,500 lb. Marquipt davit, chilled water air-conditioning system, 2,000 gallons per day water making capacity, automatic engine room and lazarette fire system with ventilation dampeners and much more.

This very convivial conversation space can seat ten people very comfortably. Beautiful carpeting throughout, a book shelf to port, and custom blinds and lighting all add to the overall cozy feel of the salon.
A low cabinet forward conceals a flat panel television which rises at the touch of a button. This cabinet, with the service columns to each side, visually separates the salon from the dining room.
The salon overhead was custom designed and features raised beams.
DAY HEAD
The day head is located to starboard across from the galley.

DECK & HULL
Rest Assured is an aft house trawler with the superstructure set well back on the hull to provide the most comfortable ride in a pitching sea. This configuration provides ample space for large tenders in the well deck aft of the high bow, and forward of the Portuguese bridge.
There are side decks on both sides of the main deck and pilothouse deck, and a generous aft deck/cockpit with access to the integral swim platform. A straight bench settee with cushions is across the transom facing a convertible dining table and four teak deck chairs for al fresco dining.
FLYBRIDGE
This is very much an “owner and guest” area, with ample seating and is accessed via stairs from the pilothouse. A hardtop stretches from the ventilation stacks forward shading the area, and there are tracks and removable Isinglass screens to enclose the space when the weather warrants. A C-shaped settee and table is forward.
UNDERWATER CONFIGURATION
Rest Assured has a bulbous bow for optimal fuel efficiency (the bow thruster is contained in this bulb), a full keel ending a few meters short of the stern, twin skegs enclosing the shafts with the rudders supported aft leaving the propellers protected within apertures, and a extended swim platform aft which is integral to the hull, and contains an inverted broad U-shaped tunnel with the stern thruster.
Stabilizers are just aft of amidships each side, and are fitted with kelp cutters.

ELECTRICAL
The AC electrical system is three-phase 120/208-volt distribution with a maximum capacity of 60kW provided by two Onan 40kw generators which can be synched together (splitting the buss bars as opposed to paralleling), or through two 100 amp shore power connections (one fed by a Glendenning cable master) through an Atlas shore power converter, allowing the yacht to be powered in any country in the world. The Atlas shore power converter has seamless transfer capability allowing the yacht to be unaffected when switching between power supplies.
The DC electrical system is 24 volts with a capacity of 765 amp hours provided by six 8D Lifeline batteries connected in series/parallel charged by an Outback inverter/charger at 80 amps.
Each main engine and generator has dedicated 24 volt starting banks charged by alternators on each unit that are also used to top float the house batteries whilst underway.
CONSTRUCTION
Rest Assured is built in fiberglass to very heavy scantlings from female molds using an outer layer of gelcoat (although all finish surfaces are subsequently painted in Alexseal®) and 2mm of Coremat to prevent “print through” before the first series of lamination of woven roving is applied. Vinylester resin is used in the first three layers below the waterline, and the entire underwater structure is coated in five coats of epoxy resin before antifouling paint is applied.
Built to ABS Class requirements and has been maintained in class.
Longitudinal stringers (10 each side) are used full length for added rigidity, and there are five watertight bulkheads.
The superstructure cabin sides incorporate Klegecell foam coring, and all deck structures use Baltec vertical end grain balsa coring to keep the center of gravity as low as possible. Further, 30,000 lbs. of lead ballast is built into the keel structure, and an additional 4,000 lbs. is used in trim.
Fuel storage tanks and water tanks are also built in fiberglass with inspection hatches and removable baffles for full access if needed.
Teak decking, glued (not screwed) sheaths the main deck, the pilothouse deck, and the flybridge.
All machinery spaces are lined with Soundown lead foam insulation and 3M Thinsulate to prevent noise propagation.
