Shogun is unquestionably one of the finest Nordhavn 55’s built. She was designed for her detail orientated owner to provide the highest luxury, comfort and safety in harbor, at anchor or cruising and to be very much a second home for this experienced owner. We are happy and proud to tell you that the current owner is moving into another Nordhavn in November this year and Shogun is seriously for sale.

She is built to our usual exacting standards and come with full CE certification, Category A. Her specification is outstanding and included, for the first time on any of our fleet, TRAC stabilizers incorporating the STAR system (Stabilisation At Rest). She has full hydraulics, twin engines and much much more. Her layout was again a N55 first as her forward cabin was redesigned to have an island double berth. This has become a very popular option since it was conceived on Shogun.

She has a beautiful cherry interior, using high gloss finish in the staterooms and satin finish elsewhere and her soft furnishing were created by a local interior design company with a Japanese design in keeping with her name!

Shogun has been cared for by a team of highly skilled craftsmen under the watchful eye of her owner. She has over the last 18 months had a full time skipper on board. The standard of care, upgrades and servicing undergone is exceptional.

Let us take a walk through Shogun.

Shogun has spent her short life in the Mediterranean and is set up for Med style berthing. We board her from her stern across her Opacmare hydraulic passerelle. She has an extended swim platform. Through the stern door you can see the extra hawses fitted at the factory to help run lines easily to the shore, it’s this sort of detail that make this such a special boat. The cockpit area is enclosed with canvas, when you want, it adds another dimension to the living area. You will notice that the stairwell has been removed to the boat deck, giving the cockpit area more social space and providing much more room on the boat deck. From the cockpit you enter….

The Salon
You enter through the wide ‘dutch’ door, into the salon. Firstly you will notice the enlarged seating and table (in full starburst cherry and high gloss) offering extended socializing. The starboard side of the salon has been designed to maximize space and there are two custom designed chairs and a coffee table incorporated together with the TV (B&O) on its cabinet. The shoji styled cupboards are a theme throughout the boat. Down two steps and you enter….

The Galley
You are greeted with upgraded appliances by Miele, full height SubZero fridges, wonderful black granite work surfaces and black slate floors. She has a full size dishwasher, Miele of course, and the owner has incorporated valuable extra storage in this area. Move through past the fridges and pantry cupboards and you enter into…..

The Master Stateroom
Again the shoji cupboard are a beautiful feature around the king size bed, with custom mattresses and bed head. One stand out feature is the high gloss finish in the MSR as well as the Guest stateroom (GSR) it lifts this room and the quality of the gloss finish has to be seen to appreciate the outstanding workmanship that has gone into this build.
The Heads do away with the ‘hot tub’ in favour of a shower room, which incorporates the black slate on the floor and on the sidewalls. Moving forward out of the door and into area where the stairs lead to the pilothouse, there is another door leading to….

The Guest Stateroom
The owner felt that the standard layout did not offer guests such a nice bed layout or feel, so this whole area was reworked to provide a large island berth forward and bring the head back aft. It’s a design that many further 55’s have gone for. Again in high gloss finish, there is an abundance of storage and the deck hatches provide fantastic natural light in this Stateroom. There is a wall mounted flat screen TV (B&O) which integrates with the B&O sound system. The heads do not suffer in the slightest with this change and there is a large shower with Bi Fold door, Black granite and slate floors. Before you walk out of the GSR look down and you will see a floor hatch. Open it and the forward walk down bilge area is revealed, one of the surprise finds on a 55! This gives vast storage and access to machinery.
Out of the GSR and you see the curved stairwell leading to the heart of any Nordhavn….

The Pilothouse
In front of the Black Stidd pilot chair is the navigation area. Nothing has been overlooked and the dual Raymarine G series systems give you everything you could need on board. Full details are listed below, but with forward looking sonar, Flir cameras, dual autopilots, AIS, SSB, VHF, Sat T.V. etc you will want for nothing. Again the table has full gloss starburst pattern incorporated and behind the bench seating is the Captains cabin. The day heads also has the added advantage of having a pullout shower with the floor area draining.

The overhead panel about the dash has dark paneling to help with night vision and the owner has a custom cherry rail running athwartships, giving a full length handrail. The wheel has a cherry wood rim to it too. The rear stairwell takes us back down into the salon area, and down another stairwell takes us down to the…

Utility area
Which incorporates the washing machine and separate Drier, both Miele, the large chest freezer and laundry stowage. Here we have access to the…

Engine room
Shogun is a twin engine 55. She has two Lugger 1066T2 engines rated at 170hp. They counter rotate, giving excellent tracking through the water. There is as much, if not more, room to work in the twin than there is in the standard single engine set up. The normal stuffing boxes have been replaces with dripless shaft seals. The Genset is located in the engineroom and has been upgraded to the Northern Lights 20KW. The Genset also has a PTO for powering the full hydraulics systems on board.
The Stabilizers are 250 Trac with STAR system (this runs off the genset at anchor). The owner has been delighted with the performance of this system and has incorporated in his new Nordhavn. The thrusters, (bow and stern) run hydraulically giving 25HP. Maneuvering Shogun is a cinch, and she has electronic Mathers controls with remote stations on the Portuguese bridge and in the cockpit. Added to the Hydraulics package is the Windlass, the Anchor wash system and an extra hydraulic bilge pump.
Shogun has Dometic reverse cycle air conditioning throughout and the raw water pump is located in the engine room to minimize noise on board and the outlets from the chiller units exit underwater to minimize noise.
Through the back of the engine room is the lazarette which has great stowage as well as battery banks, inverters (upgraded to 6 KW from the standard 3Kw Victron units) steering gear and the aircon compressors, there is a large hatch from the lazarette which has an electric lift.
So from the machinery area lets go up top and on to the outside areas.

The boat deck
Shogun had her boat deck radically changed from the standard boat. Instead of the standard crane the owner had an Opacmare knuckle crane built on a aluminum powder coated frame outboard of the rails. In this way the boat deck area is maximized for social entertaining, dining, barbequing without the crane and stairwell to cockpit being in the way. The flybridge stairs were changed to make the steps shallower and easier to climb.

The flybridge
Full nav aids are available; the standard Todd helm chair has been upgraded to a Stidd helm chair. The large seating area has had the covers upgraded to. Looking out over this dominating position you will see the bow rails have been upgraded. No wire, all stainless bar and a raised section around the bow area. The whole pulpit has been redesigned to make anchoring and picking up ‘slime lines’ much easier. It’s these changes that make Shogun so special. She also has the Hard Top bimini.
