Sweet Hope II is hull #21 in the 76 series. Nordhavn Europe is delighted to be able to offer her for sale on behalf of the knowledgeable and experienced owner. She represents 20 plus years of boat ownership, knowledge and experience. 

‘Sweet Hope II’ can only be described as the ultimate cruising boat in her class. Her layout is extremely comfortable, has accommodation for 6 (if required) with additional cabin for captain / crew on the lower deck (or further guests).

Her passage making capability is unquestionable and she can cruise to any part of the globe the new owner so desires or is just as happy to coastal cruise. Many non Nordhavn listings quote ready to cruise but Sweet Hope II really is genuinely ready.

Just as a foot note, the Nordhavn 76 has been a hugely successful model for the European market with four out of the last five Nordhavn 76 hulls being built for European market. She does however have 110V 60Hz circuitry added to her 240 V CE system, as well as an ASEA power converter, making cruising the Americas easy.

The following is an over view of the equipment on board, the photos give you an idea of her layout but if you are in the market for a vessel of this type you need to make an appointment to view Sweet Hope II as she is as impressive as they get!


Main Engine: 

MTU Detroit Diesel Series commercial engine. 14 litre Continuous duty rating of 500 hp @ 1800 rpm, with Twin Disk geared box with 3.43:1 reduction. Main engine is keel cooled with dry exhaust. 2 alternators 100 amp (starting batteries) and 175 amp (house batteries).

Hydraulic system 

  • System design by ABT. Powered by PTO pumps on both the main and the wing engine. 

System runs: bow and stern thrusters, stabilizers, anchor windlasses, anchor / chain wash and the emergency bilge pump system and Steelhead CT2000 Davit 

  • Stabilization system: ABT / TRAC 370  3.66 sq meters ( 16 sq ft) digital with kelp cutters
  • Bow Thrusters: ABT 50 hp with proportional controls at 5 stations (not engine room)
  • Stern Thrusters: ABT 38 hp with proportional controls at 5 stations (not engine room)

Hydraulic power steering system

  • Kobelt Power Steering System. Separate hydraulic circuit powered by the main engine with a backup PTO / hydraulic pump on the 20 Kw generator.

Noise control

Hull Damping insulation above propeller rotation plane. Engine room bulkheads and ceiling treated with 7.6 cm of 3M Thinsulate and finished Soundown panels. Further insulation in Galley and Saloon flooring, engine room hatches and in the exhaust system.


Fire/Smoke dampers installed on the engine room side of engine room blower and exhaust stack ventilation system.

Four main FRP baffled fuel tanks totalling 15520 litres, (4,100 US gallons) with one  centreline aluminium ‘supply reservoir’ (supplying main, wing and gensets with spare is required) with a capacity of 303 litres (80 gallons) which gravity feeds from the main engine room tanks.

The supply reservoir sump is the lowest point of the fuel system in the engine room area and this tank has a sump with a water alarm system and also a valve to enable for physical fuel checking.

Sight glass ‘gauges’ fitted to the fuel tanks with sprung loaded valves. 

Automatic shut off system on all fuel values within the engine room which are activated from the overhead panel in the pilothouse.

All main tanks are accessible with removable hatches and internal baffles to allow full cleaning if necessary.

Transfer manifold: To enable fuel transfer between all tanks filtering / fuel ‘scrubbing’ through a Racor 1000 filter. 13.24 Litres (3.5 US gallons) per minute controlled


  • Two fibreglass water tanks totalling 3028 litres (800 US gallons) with full inspection hatches and baffle system.
  • ‘Wema’ level gauge.
  • Main pump Headhunter Mach 5 with back up Headhunter X-Caliber.
  • Fresh water filter.

  • Four manual Edson pumps. One in each compartment.
  • Hydraulic drive emergency pump 681 litres pm (180 US gallons) plumbed to all water tight compartments.


  • Asea 25 shore power transformer 
  • Vessel fitted with two 50 amp shore inlets with two 50 amp cables fitted on two Glendenning shore power retrieval systems.

Generally, Nordhavn owners specify very extensive navigation electronics and systems, but Sweet Hope II pushes this to a new level! At the heart of the system lies two completely independent Furuno’s NavNet 3D systems with its power, reliability and functionality. There is full redundancy in these systems and has all the ‘bolts ons’ specified. Importantly the set up and layout is very user friendly for expert and novice alike.
