In addition to the classroom style seminars, there will also be 70-minute engine room tours being conducted intermittently during the course of the Rendezvous. Engine room tours will be organized based on boat size(s). Please be sure to click on the ER TOUR REGISTRATION button to sign up.
NOTE: Due to space considerations, ER Tours need to be limited to one Rendezvous participant from any given boat per tour.
UPDATE! 8:00 – 10:30 am Diesel Engine and Generator Maintenance
This seminar will focus on care, maintenance and issue prevention on your Nordhavn’s diesel engine. Presented by “Lugger Bob” Senter, Northern Lights/Lugger’s Service Training Manager and Jeff Albrecht, a service manager who specializes on John Deere engines. We are thrilled to update the scope of this seminar to include the two main brands of engines found in nearly all Nordhavn yachts.
10:45 – 11:45 am LED Lighting Solutions
An introduction to the basic technology behind LED lighting and an explanation of the benefits in a marine application. Topics of discussion include the various levels of product available to boat owners today, both in terms of price and performance, and some of the key decision making factors individuals should consider when selecting product that is best for them. Presented by Dick Davidson, customer specialist at IMTRA Corporation. Dick has been boating for over 30 years, keeps his boat in Dana Point Harbor and has been working with PAE and Nordhavns for over a decade.
12:00 – 1:15 pm Fishing the Alaskan Waters
How to get the fish to bite while you cruise to and around Alaska. Presented by renowned fishing journalist Ron Ballanti.

2:00 – 3:15 pm Adjusting to Life Aboard
A seminar outlining the differences of the boating/cruising lifestyle compared to land life, how to decide if living aboard full time is right for you, what sort of costs are involved and tips on choosing the right amenities for your boat. Presented by Eric and Christi Grab. Eric and Christi Grab circumnavigated the globe on their 43 foot Nordhavn, Kosmos, from 2007 - 2009. After completing the journey, they continued to live aboard full time for another 2.5 years. They still have Kosmos and plan to return to living aboard full time in the relatively near future.
3:30 – 4:45 pm Nordhavn Autopilots
Sure to be of immense interest to all Nordhavn owners, no matter how long you’ve been operating your boat. This seminar will provide tips for troubleshooting autopilot glitches at sea as well as setting up your autopilot from the start to optimize your results. Presented by Robert Kinney, president of Alcom Marine Electronics based in southern California, which has been providing installation and service on Nordhavns for 25 years.
9:00 – 11:00 am Nordhavn Electrical Systems and Boat Electricity
Covered topics will include electrical basics, Nordhavn’s approach to electrical design, load management considerations, battery care, using foreign shore power, electrical system maintenance, and corrosion avoidance. Presented by Mike Telleria, Nordhavn’s in-house engineer and technical writer.
