July 16, 2005
Departed Vero Beach, FL on maiden voyage to home port of Tiverton, RI.
Made various stops along the way with one off shore passage of 200+ miles.
Total mileage 1,287.
Since taking delivery we have continued to use Summer Skis regularly.
Some of our most memorable stops have been Bermuda in 06 & 07. Washington DC in 08 as well as numerous stops in New England and the east coast.
June 6 will see us departing Tiverton RI to embark on the "Down East Circle Route." This can be followed on the website. Feel free to send e-mails and we will respond as time allows.
Summer Skis currently has in excess of 17,000 miles and 2,700 hundred hours.
Our Down East Cruise was shortened due to excessive enjoyment of what we were accomplishing. Instead of going out the Gaspe we enjoyed the Thousand Island, St.Lawrence River, Montreal, & Quebec City to the max. Then back tracked to Sorrel QC to Lake Champlain via the Chambly Canal. Returning to RI at the end of August. We are now planning to go to Nova Scotia during the summer of 2010. We are currently, 10/09, en-route to Vero Beach, Fl for another winter in paradise. Winter cruising plans are currently cast in Jell'O.
We are now one day out of our winter home of Vero Beach, FL.
Since arriving in Vero Beach last fall we have achieved a few additional miles since January 1 2010.
These include cruising the west coast of Florida in company with Chip & Kay Marsh on Beso.
We then prepared for our return to Tiverton, RI where we spent a few weeks provisioning and preparing for our cruise to the Bras d'Or Lakes region of Nova Scotia. This entailed an overnight to Shelburne, NS where we were joined by Chip & Kay Marsh on Beso. For the next few weeks we traveled the east coast of Nova Scotia as well as the "Lakes". We then returned to the states with another overnight to Maine.
After returning to RI we again prepared for our return to Vero Beach.
These travels are documented on the website.
In addition to the miles we have been fortunate to become acquainted with some more Nordhavn owners, in particular, First Forty, Sue & Gary Knopp, Levity, Bill & Rosemary Henderson, Wayward Wind, Bill & Linda Williams, Southern Comfort, Billy & Linda Page.
As indicated we have had the pleasure to travel in company with Beso, Chip & Kay Marsh for nearly 5,000 of the 25,000+ miles over the last few years. We first met them in Vero in 2006 and since then have been to Bermuda, New England, West Coast of FL & Nova Scotia with them. Great cruising companions. We will miss them on the Right coast as they are retuning to California this winter/spring.
We are very happy to report that we have reached the 25,000+ mile mark without a serious concern or failure of any major part.
We will slow down a bit this summer and park Summer Skis at Atlantic Yacht Basin for the summer before we begin our migration back to Vero Beach in October of 2011.

As last mentioned we parked the boat at Atlantic Yacht Basin and did not cruise the summer of 2011.
We departed AYB in October of 2011 for our return to Vero Beach and local cruising. The summer of 2012 finds us cruising our local waters of New England. Just last week we passed the 30,000 mile mark. We will be returning to Vero Beach in November and cruising local waters this winter.
We wii be returning to New England to attend the Nordhavn Rendezvous at Mystic Seaport in June of 2013. Come join the fun.
