Hi Scott and Mary,
Do you have a rough idea of when you'll get to Cape Town? I'm in Cape Town until mid November and would love to meet both of you and see Egret up close. Cape Town is a gorgeous city with lots to do, and the security concerns of many seem overblown. Thanks for the blog and good luck with the Australia to Africa crossing!

Sam, first of all thanks for the security information. From afar we don't know what is truly going on.

If I had to guess we will arrive in Cape Town mid-December to give you an answer but truly we don't know. We would like to leave Cape Town around the new year if weather allows.

Washington State is a long way from the U.S. east coast but if you happen to be on the east coast when and where we happen to be we would certainly be happy to show you around Egret. Our very rough itinerary is to arrive in Florida the end of March and exit the U.S. for Nova Scotia sometime early June.
