I'm curious about buying fresh fruits in the open markets that
you've been visiting. Are you concerned about parasites living in the fruits at all? I've read of cruisers who soak the fruits in the water next to the boat before bringing them aboard to rid them of any critters.

Fruit and veggies in the Med are as good as the States. In Central and South America is where you soak all fruits and veggies in a fresh water and light clorox solution. In our seasons in the Med the only time we got a touch of anything was in Rome from a tourist restaurant with pre prepared food.
