2004 saw the opening of the Nordhavn Europe office and a few weeks later the first Nordhavn, a 57, was on show at the Southampton Boat Show. She had just completed the Nordhavn Atlantic Rally and was greeted with considerable enthusiasm, heralding a superb start to the company's relationship with Europe.
The European office is run by Neil Russell who has extensive experience of the Nordhavn range having worked in the USA for many years with Pacific Asian Enterprises, the builders of the Nordhavn range before returning to his native UK to direct the companies’ activities in Europe.
Nordhavn Europe’s first year of trading exceeded all expectations; consequently in October 2005 the European team expanded and moved to larger premises within Hamble Point Marina. The new office houses both the sales team and the service centre, which is kept busy commissioning new boats and servicing traveling Nordhavn’s from all over the world.
As a subsidiary of Pacific Asian Enterprises, the designers and manufacturers of the Nordhavn range, our sales staff work directly with the manufacturer. We are in direct contact with the designers, the project managers and the factory so we can give you beneficial guidance based on years of experience.
Within these pages you will find details relevant to the extensive Nordhavn line, both new boats and brokerage, together with dates of our boat show appearances and other useful information.
We hope to welcome you aboard one of our Nordhavn fleet in the near future, the only way to fully appreciate these exceptional motor yachts. Who knows, you may soon become one of our many owners who experience the unique pleasure of cruising where and when you choose.
Most of you (especially Europeans) are aware that PAE owned Nordhavn motorsailer hull #9 http://www.nordhavn.com/brokerage/listings/5609/ is located at our office in Hamble England. If you attended the Southampton Boat show last year, you would have seen it. While we (and industry pundits and experts) are ecstatic with the performance and technical aspects of this boat, for some reason, the European market has not warmed to it.
Conversely, the American market loves the motorsailer. So, on April 26, MS56 #9 will be loaded on a freighter and shipped to Rhode Island where she will be put on display at our Rhode Island office and shown at the upcoming Nordhavn rendezvous in Mystic Connecticut on June 16/17.
The purpose of this post? If there are any Europeans out there who are interested in this boat but have been hanging back, please know that she will be departing soon on a one way trip to the US. We would love to talk to you. Please call the Hamble office at: 44 2380 45634.
