P.A.E. has been manufacturing boats for nearly 30 years and over that period, the industry has evolved quite a bit. Boating trends have changed as has technology and our own knowledge of the boat building process. Striving to continue to be at the top of our game, we have introduced several new models over recent years that reflect these changes in the marketplace. But in order to make room for bigger and better boats, we were faced with the decision to discontinue producing certain models. |

Nordhavn 35 Coastal Pilot. The perfect yacht is every boat builder’s goal and if you believe advertising, it has been accomplished quite a few times. Tradeoffs and compromises, the eyes of the beholder and personal preferences make perfection an elusive target. While the Nordhavn 35 may not be the perfect boat, it does have a single minded purpose and discipline of build that we feel is untouched in the under 40-foot “anything that floats” category.
Sadly, the business realities of today’s trawler market did not allow us to continue building the 35 forever as I had always hoped and now the only way to obtain one is through the brokerage (used boat) market.
The 35 was our answer to numerous Nordhavn owners’ requests for a couple’s cruiser with: just one stateroom, protected steering and cockpit, luxury yacht comfort and quality, slightly faster speed capability, easily accessed yet out-of-sight stowage option for ship’s tender, an exterior requiring minimal maintenance and stout enough to handle rough sea conditions encountered in any coastal passage...read more |

Nordhavn 46. What can you say about the trend-setting Nordhavn 46? Initially mocked when it was introduced 20 years ago, the boat soon became a cult phenomenon and helped shape the trawler industry to what it is today. There were over 80 hulls sold to people from all parts of the globe who continue to use their boats in every corner of the world. But the N46 reflects the design wisdom of yesteryear and seems antiquated compared to the roomier, well-thought out Nordhavns of today. We saw a slowdown in sales of the 46 in the late 90s, and only sold a handful in the new millennium. The N46 brokerage market thrives, however, and that venerable boat continues to be a proven solid investment. |

Nordhavn 50. The Nordhavn 50 represents the best of both boating worlds. Designed for bluewater voyaging off soundings, she is equally at home moored in the world's most glamorous harbor or tied up at one's favorite yacht club. Born with the same uncompromising dedication to the principles of the full displacement hull that gave rise to the globe-circling Nordhavn 46, whose origins were inspired by Captain Robert Beebe's book Voyaging Under Power, the Nordhavn 50 creates a new standard in long range cruising yachts. Ruggedly built and capable of crossing any ocean, she brings a refreshing, contemporary sense of style to a world grown weary of look-alike, cookie-cutter trawlers.

Nordhavn 57. For years, P.A.E. has demonstrated the virtues of full displacement passagemakers. It first delighted the powerboat market with the introduction of its Nordhavn 46, a moderately sized, full displacement motoryacht. Capable of crossing any ocean, over 75 of these popular cruisers have been built to date. During the development of its Nordhavn 62, a ship-like vessel designed for those with even more ambitious cruising plans, P.A.E. continued its evolutionary work on the modern day, long range cruiser. Thanks to extraordinary attention to hull design and a commitment to extensive tank testing, the Nordhavn 57 has exceeded P.A.E.'s expectations for speed and efficiency. A close look at its wide range of cruising speeds, coupled with its efficient fuel burning rate, will clearly demonstrate that this boat is the embodiment of today's modern, long distance cruiser.

Mason Sailboats. The company was founded on the Mason sailboat line, but two decades after construction of that first Mason, we witnessed a standstill in sailboat orders and our direction had all but completely shifted to the power-driven Nordhavns. Our last sailboat order, a Mason 44, was taken in 1997 and a few years later, all the Mason sailboat molds were destroyed. But the breed lives on. There were hundreds of Masons sold and most of those are still being used by their faithful owners today. |
