Electrical System

Electrical panel set consisting of the following:

Electrical panel x one (1)

Engine emergency shut off switch and panel with parallel switches

Outback sine wave inverter

Inverter bypass

LP gas control panel


Shore power inlet and AC system per PAE design

Hubbell - HBLLPHTVSS 30 amp 2 pole 3 wire

120 volt 60 Hz

Interior outlets per drawing

All galley and head outlets GFCI type


Battery and DC system per PAE design

Batteries: Three (3) 255+ AH (8D) Lifeline batteries for house applications (765 amps) and one (1) additional 4D for engine starting. The engine stating battery is isolated from the house batteries which prevents the inadvertent discharge of the engine starting battery. Main engine has dual alternators - 160 amp large case for house and a small 40 amp for engine start battery charging. Parallel switches provide for emergency engine starting or to parallel alternators in case of an alternator failure

Each battery secured with stainless steel tie downs


Battery cable:
.00 for general battery leads with .0000 for starting and optional bow thruster

Positive lead is red

Negative is black


Conduits for future installations

PVC from mast step to pilothouse

PVC from engine room to pilothouse


Electrolytic control:

All thru hulls bonded together with #6 green

All hardware mounted below waterline i.e. stuffing box, stern bearing housing, rudder
shoe, rudder frame, rudder stuffing box grounded into 12 volt DC ground system

Zincs: Two (2) 2-1/2" x 5-3/4" (6.35 cm x 14.6 cm) zinc plates tied into the 12 volt DC ground system

Galvanic isolators on ships service and air conditioning shore power connectors ground


AC generator (optional)

Foundation provided within the engine room to accommodate up to an 8 kW generator

Electrical panel to accommodate AC ship's power
