New boats arrive to Nordhavn offices
A brand new Nordhavn 86, hull number 9, arrived to the docks at the company’s new world headquarters in Dana Point, CA last week. The gorgeous Custom Stretched 86, called Rest Assured was offloaded in San Diego last week and brought up to Dana Point where she’ll spend three months undergoing commissioning. Rest Assured is filled with extravagant materials and fixtures tailor made to the owners’ exquisite tastes. This is the second Nordhavn for the owners, a husband and wife, who will eventually keep the boat in Florida. They previously owned an aft pilothouse N68.
The boat is currently being outfitted and styled, but these first glimpses of the interior reveal just how special a yacht Rest Assured is. Every area of the boat, right down to the taps in the heads and galley, is swathed in luxury.
Across the country, our Portsmouth, RI office welcomed the Nordhavn 56 Motorsailer, hull 9. The boat has spent time in England but is making her northeast debut, drawing lots of attention to the area which is known for its rich sailing history. With ties to Mason sailing yachts and Nordhavn trawlers, the N56 MS combines the best of both worlds for those who are looking to travel the world wherever the wind takes (or doesn’t take) them.
The three-cabin optional layout is perfect for owners with guests and/or crew. Inside she is resplendent with a teak and spruce sole and granite countertops. Dave Balfour and Ben Sprague, salesmen from the Northeast office, delivered her to the office and commented on the boat’s handling. “She tracks unbelievably well. Like she’s on rails,” said Ben. The boat is packed with features, but an especially nifty one is the dedicated sail locker aft of (and affording access to) the chain locker where wet and extra sail sheets can be stowed.
