Last year's 4th of July was a momentous one for Nordhavn owners. It marked the culmination of the Nordhavn Atlantic Rally and the 100 various participants on the 18 boats celebrated America's birthday in style with a gala celebration in Gibraltar.

One year after the Rally disbanded many of the Nordhavns are still together, and to commemorate Independence Day 2005, they gathered outside Rome to celebrate with some good ol' American picnic fare: hotdogs, burgers, baked beans, macaroni salad and apple pie. Boats were dressed with American flags and bunting and of the boats even piped out the Star Spangled Banner and some favorite Sousa marches. It was decidedly more casual than the Gibraltar fete, but no less fun! Attendees included Braun and Tina Jones on Nordhavn 62 Grey Pearl, Bob and Janice Rothman from Nordhavn 57 Emeritus, Scott and Teri Strickland of Nordhavn 47 Strickly For Fun, Scott and Mary Flanders on Nordhavn 46 Egret, and John and Sue Spencer on Nordhavn 40 Uno Mas.
