Nordhavn 55 Twin Engine

Nordhavn Australasia launches new waterfront office location
By Peter Devers

Ed. note: Peter Devers helms Nordhavn’s Australasian office in Brisbane. His partnership with P.A.E. has spanned four successful years and this month Peter launches a new location in Scarborough to accommodate the Nordhavn traffic that has rapidly increased in the area during the past 24 months.

The Nordhavn brand is now well entrenched in the Australasian marine scene. There are several dozen of these iconic trawlers either based here, or visiting our beautiful cruising grounds. Nordhavn owners of almost every model, from the N40 right up to the magnificent Nordhavn 86 are enjoying the unique blend of cruising luxury in our remote and pristine marine environment. A big reason that Nordhavns are so popular here is that Australians and New Zealanders understand the design philosophy of these vessels. Generations of us have grown up with full displacement, round bilge, single engine, dry stack comfortable reef cruisers. These designs, many of which still ply our waters, have strong similarities to the Nordhavn range. Beautiful examples of these vessels can be seen all up and down our coastline, often staying in the family for generations, those from iconic Aussie designers and boat builders with names like Fred Fleming, Hugh Morris, Norman Wright, and Millkraft. So it’s no surprise that the new generation Nordhavn vessels, with their outstanding range and economy, comfortable sea motion, redundancy of systems and luxury inclusions have captured the imagination of a new generation of Aussies and Kiwis alike…
