Back in 1978, Dan Streech, now president of P.A.E., founded a tiny brokerage office called Dan Streech Yacht Sales where he was a one-man band selling small pre-owned boats. Later, when Jim Leishman, now P.A.E.’s vice president, and Joe Meglen (former P.A.E. co-founder) joined him, they worked together to bring in a bigger selection of listings. The brokerage house flourished and in recognition of the trio’s partnership, they re-named the company Lemest, which is comprised of the first two letters of each of their last names. The three later went on to found P.A.E., but Lemest remains to this day as the West Coast sales base for Nordhavns.
The now seven-man staff consists of brokers with diverse backgrounds who have a vast knowledge of the marine industry. Some have been with the company from the beginning. All are avid boaters and have spent countless hours on board Nordhavns as well as in the conference room with the project managers and designers of the boats who are based just down the street in Dana Point.
A top notch commissioning team on site affords each salesman to keep a watchful eye over the work being performed on the boats and enables us to answer questions for owners who are not around to see their yacht’s progress in person.
Anyone living in the South Western half of the United States is encouraged to contact our office to discuss the Nordhavn of their dreams – new or used – or to check out the latest boats we have at our docks. Most models can be found in the water in front of our office at any given time, so giving a tour is usually not a problem. Feel free to call or stop by and prepare to be wowed.
