"True Blue" is a recent model Nordhavn 63 (2013) now available for sale. She has the desirable aft pilothouse design, custom galley layout, full hydraulic system (including bow and stern thrusters, anchor wash and emergency bilge pump system) and is well equipped with all of the comforts of home for extended cruising. She is a must see and ready to take her new owners anywhere in the world.
The current original owner and former Nordhavn 60 owner has kept “True Blue” in immaculate condition both cosmetically and mechanically, and just recently has upgraded with new carpet throughout as well as a new varnish and waxing (Ocober 2018)
Enter into the salon from the cockpit through the aft salon Dutch glass door. To starboard is a crescent shaped settee with cushions upholstered in Ultraleather. The cabin interior is upgraded with beautiful teak book match panels. To port are custom barrel chairs and a teak coffee table.
The spacious custom “dog leg” style galley offers much more room than the standard layout. The galley is equipped with full-size high-end appliances and offers ample storage throughout.
Just to starboard of the galley is the hallway leading to master and guest staterooms forward. Outboard to starboard are the stairs leading down to the utility and engine room. Also to starboard, at the forward end of the settee, are the steps up to the pilothouse.
Natural light enters into the salon and galley area through three large windows on port and starboard sides of the cabin. All windows are installed with hi-tensile adhesive for a permanent water-tight seal, and easy rinse-down maintenance.
Up in the pilothouse, there is also sleeping accommodation in the “captain’s/guest cabin”. The head serves that cabin, or as a day head. The instrument console displays information beautifully, from an array of high quality electronics. There is one Stidd helm chair with room for another to be installed.
INTERIOR - GENERAL
The overhead panels are upholstered in Majalite cream color, except in the forward pilothouse section, where the color is black, which helps with glare reduction
The salon settee, pilothouse, and guest cabin changing seat cushions are upholstered in Ultraleather
Framed panel joinery doors of teak with book match inlays
The engine room is well insulated, including the engine room doors. In the living spaces there are insulated bulkheads and rubber gasketed interior doors. The salon sole is four inches thick and cored with Nida Core. Below are two more inches for foam engine room insulation with a perforated plate layer covering it.
To starboard is a long crescent shaped settee with a beautiful teak dinette table.
The settee is upholstered in Ultraleather with a considerable amount of storage beneath the settee and behind the settee back rest. The TV is mounted on an electric lift to port creating an easy viewing angle for all in the salon – when not in use the TV can be lowered and stowed out of sight. There are air-conditioning soffits above the port and starboard windows for broad dispersion of cool or warm air. The soffits join valences for the window coverings below.
“True Blue“has sun shades mounted in the valances that are very effective for reducing UV and heat loading in the interior and also provide some insulation for cooler conditions outside.
“True Blue“has the best equipped galley of any Nordhavn 63 model. She has two Sub-Zero 700 refrigerators each with two freezer drawers with icemakers. Other appliances include a GE convection microwave, GE gas cooktop, GE electric oven, GE dishwasher and GE trash compactor. In addition to the standard complement of storage space, is the large custom “Dog leg” counter top similar to the iconic Nordhavn 62 model. This allows for a much larger galley and countertop area than the standard Nordhavn 63 arrangement. There is a deep, double bowl stainless steel sink mounted in the granite counter, and a Grohe faucet. There are overhead lockers above the main galley granite counter top. The space is accessible fore and aft through book match teak wood locker doors.
The hallway provides easy access fore and aft to the staterooms and pantry without passing through any cabins.
The main electrical distribution panel is in the hallway just forward of the salon. Further forward and to starboard is a large pantry with convenient shelf storage.
Forward and to port is the entrance to the owner’s cabin. Further forward to starboard is the guest head. A door just before the head encloses the guest head in the hallway into the space of the forward guest stateroom, which is all the way forward in the hallway.
Owner’s Stateroom & Head
Fitted with a queen-size mattress, lots of storage space, head and shower, this cabin offers total comfort. There are hanging lockers and lots of drawer space, including night stands fore and aft of the head of the bed. The flat screen TV is mounted on the wall adjacent to the foot of the queen bed.
There are two large rectangular opening port lights in the alcove above the head of the bed, and a large hatch overhead for light and ventilation. Ports and hatches are equipped with screens.
The master head is aft in the cabin. It is comfortably sized, and has a shower stall, granite topped vanity, Tecma fresh water head and custom tile backsplash.
The forward stateroom features a centerline bed (58”x76”), lots of storage space in multiple drawers and several lockers, five opening portlights and three deck hatches. All ports and hatches are fitted with screens.
There is a large stand up utility/work space below the sole of the forward stateroom. It provides easy access to the water heater, water maker, upgraded hydraulic bow thruster and anchor wash, freshwater manifold, and house fresh water pump. There is sufficient space for storage of spare parts and other items.
Just outboard of the entrance to the hallway are the steps leading up to the pilothouse which is fitted with a large settee, teak table and Stidd helm chair. There is a double bed and ensuite head, which is very convenient for the operating crew and/or extra guests.
The pilothouse forward windows are reverse-raked for glare reduction, and the overhead panel fabric is black to also reduce glare. The windscreen wipers are fitted with fresh water washers.
The Nordhavn 63 pilothouse is expansive, overlooking the foredeck and much of the length of the boat. Outside the pilothouse doors are both starboard and port side wing control stations allowing for easy docking and visibility.
“True Blue”is fitted with an extensive marine electronics package and components were supplied and installed by Alcom Marine, who has done the majority of all electronics on Nordhavn yachts for the last 20 years.
