CARPE DIEM... Part II
Before you read on, pause for a moment. Take a deep breath and open your mind. This is admittedly off the wall, but actually brilliant when you stop and think about it. There is a beautiful 2014 Nordhavn 52 being offered for sale in Australia. With less than 500 hours on the main engine, Cap Ternay is essentially a new boat. Cap Ternayis a PAE/Nordhavn owned trade-in boat and is priced to sell. (The former owner is moving up to a brand new Nordhavn 60, which he’ll be taking delivery of any day now.) And... she is a tax (Australian GST and import duty) -paid boat. In Australia, these taxes follow the boat and add value to it because the new buyer (and the next buyer after that) does not have to pay those taxes again. Or any taxes at all.
This next part is for Americans and/or USD buyers: With the strong US Dollar (the AUD is 76 cents as of this writing), you could buy Cap Ternay at a great price, keep her in Australia and have a grand adventure cruising the incredibly beautiful waters of the Australian coast, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, New Zealand and New Caledonia. When that bucket list adventure has been completed and checked off, you could hand the boat over to Peter Devers and David Flynn in Nordhavn's Brisbane office and fly home with a smile on your face and wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. While we can't guarantee it, the final total cost of that priceless adventure will probably be surprisingly low. Call your Nordhavn sales person and DO IT! You will not be sorry.
