Fall Boat Show Wrap Up
September was a busy and productive month for Nordhavn as the fall boat show season officially got underway. Shows in Seattle, Baltimore and Southampton, England were well attended with inspiring Nordhavn displays at each. At the Seattle Boats Afloat Show held September 12-16th, Nordhavn showcased a 43 and 55 to appreciative crowds. The show benefitted from great weather and attendance was up 6% according to show management. “Nordhavn is always a focal point of the show and this year was certainly no different,” said Nordhavn’s Northwest sales rep Barbara Lippert. “We are enthusiastic about consumer interest and have a better sense that the marine industry is getting back on track. Boats are selling again.”
Across the pond, the Nordhavn 55 and Nordhavn 56 Motorsailer were received exceptionally well. Nordhavn Europe’s Sales Manager, Neil Russell, was encouraged by the interest and felt prospects seemed to be in a better position to make a purchase than in recent years past. “Both of our display boats attracted excellent interest and it was very evident that the serious prospects who had boats to sell previously had actually sold them and were now looking to make their next purchase,” said Russell. “It is always difficult to gauge the success of a particular show but there is certainly positive interest in our new boats along with the brokerage side. We’ve seen this interest remain steady in the few weeks following the show.”
At the Trawler Fest in Baltimore, event organizers geared for their biggest show ever, with gate sales topping previous bests and an in-water display that boasted a waiting list. The new venue at Baltimore’s Harborview Marina provided a great backdrop especially for Nordhavn’s three-boat display: a brand new Nordhavn 40 alongside two brokerage boats, an N43 and N47.
Following the uptick in show enthusiasm, Nordhavn is now gearing for its biggest show of the year, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, which starts Thursday, October 24 and runs through the 29th.
